Dianne Buswell’s Strictly partner Dev Griffin in shock results revelation: 'I'll ruin it'

Dev Griffin, 34, shared his fears about spoiling the results of the first Strictly Come Dancing dance off, which will be airing on BBC One tonight. The DJ made his co-host Alice Levine, 33, “nervous” during their show on Radio 1 this afternoon, as he admitted he could possibly “let something slip”. Dev, who is competing in the show with his professional dance partner Dianne Buswell, 30, explained to listeners he already knows who will be leaving the competition, as the results show was pre-recorded last night. Referencing former Strictly finalist Debbie McGee’s, 60, unfortunate slip-up, Alice told the TV and radio personality: “I’m nervous and anxious for you because I don’t want you to do a Debbie.”

The magician’s assistant previously spoiled Reverend Richard Cole’s exit while she was a contestant on the programme back in 2017.

Dev then cheekily replied: “Right, okay, I knew this was coming. You’re worried I’m going to do a Debbie McGee and ruin the results of last night’s show for everyone.

“I’m not going to do that… or I’m going to try not to do that.”

Detailing the predicament he was in, the star added: “As well as doing a live show last night, we also recorded tonight’s show which is the results, which means I know the results.”

Speaking about a potential slip-up, Dev said: “I’ve seen how angry people get when our newsreaders read out the Formula 1 results.

“I don’t even want to think about what would happen if I ruined Strictly for people.”

Considering his options, he added: “If at some point I accidentally let slip what the results of Strictly are tonight, it’s fine.”

Dev jokingly went on to explain he would rely on the neuralyzer from Men In Black, which is a device used to erase people’s memories in the film franchise.

The plan seemed to baffle Alice, as she replied: “Or you could just not let slip.”

However, Dev insisted he will find it difficult to keep the results a secret, responding: “I can’t guarantee that.

“Shall we just not talk about it?”
