Demi Lovato just wore a fairytale dress and a power suit in the same night

Demi Lovato just had a presto change-o moment at the American Heart Association’s Red Dress Collection Concert, swapping a full-skirted fairytale gown for a bold-shoulder power suit during the event.

February is American Heart Month, and the American Heart Association’s Red Dress Collection Concert helps raise awareness about women and cardiovascular disease. Guests are encouraged to wear red, and Demi Lovato obliged in not one but two bright crimson looks.

For the red carpet, the singer donned a sleeveless scarlet satin gown with a high neck and an enormous ballgown skirt by Nicole + Felicia couture, like something a princess would wear for the ball scene in a Disney movie.

True to form, Lovato styled the dress with edgy black accents, including a dark manicure, a small black clutch bag, and lots of eyeliner, plus loose waves. The dress was reminiscent of one Lovato wore in the A Very Demi Christmas Special, with its big, bold skirt paired with opera-length red velvet gloves and a red lip to match. When you find your go-to palette, you stick to it!

To perform, Lovato ditched the dress in favor of a shiny red suit with big, bold shoulders and a corseted waist.

The jacket hit well past their hip, ending near mid-thigh for extra impact, and the matching wide-legged pants gave us just a teeny peek at the platform shoes hidden underneath. (And yes, they were red, too.) At one point during the performance, Lovato grabbed a black guitar, a fun contrast against the glamorous yet rebellious all-red look.

“Tonight is all about reminding women how important it is to advocate for ourselves and prioritise our health,” Lovato wrote on Instagram Stories during the event.

It looks like 2024 is going to be a huge year for the singer, who got engaged to boyfriend Jordan “Jutes” Lutes at the end of 2023. Can we expect another dress-to-power suit moment at their wedding? Fingers crossed!
