Demi Lovato and Machine Gun Kelly might have sparked dating rumours after being spotted together this week, but the pair are just friends.

The pair were spotted leaving Soho House in West Hollywood in the early hours of Wednesday morning, around 2am, which got the rumour mill going.

Given that the pair had left the members-only club at the same time, fans were quick to assume something might be going on between the pair.

However, sources close to Demi and MGK shut down the rumours, claiming to TMZ that the pair were at Soho House to ‘hang out with a mutual friend’.

Although the pair left the venue at the same time, they reportedly got into two separate cars to head home.

An eyewitness claimed to E!: ‘They stayed all night and didn’t leave until the early morning. Machine Gun Kelly got the door for Demi as they walked to her waiting car.

‘When they left, they didn’t say much of a goodbye because it looked like they were meeting up again. He followed her in his car close to her place and it seemed like the night would continue on from there.’

Another source told the site: ‘Demi has known him for years and they were discussing music. They hang out from time to time and she enjoys spending time with him.’

Demi Lovato is fresh off an amazing week of comeback performances, first at the Grammy awards – her first public performance since a near-fatal overdose in 2018 – and singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl.

She is also said to be fully committed to her sobriety following the overdose that left her life and career in the balance almost two years ago.

MGK is open about his drug use in his lyrics, as well as on Twitter, though he has expressed an interest in reducing his usage, posting in September:’ i want to become happy without the help of pills, drink, or drugs one day. i want to wake up and know what mood im going to be in.’
