Declan Donnelly cuts a casual figure in black gym shorts and a purple camouflage T-shirt

He has been self-isolating with wife Ali Astall and daughter Isla, 19-months, during the COVID-19 lockdown.

And Declan Donnelly cut a casual figure on Wednesday as he stepped out to do some household chores in London.

The presenter, 44, wore a pair of black Nike gym shorts with a purple camouflage T-shirt.

Sticking to his low-key look, Dec finished his outfit with a pair of black trainers and white tube socks.

Dec appeared to be making the most of the lockdown period as he got stuck in with household chores and was seen taking out waste to the bins.

The star has plenty of time on his hands after wrapping his hit series Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway earlier this month, they had to host the final from their homes.

It comes after Dec and his co-host Ant McPartlin turned to entertaining fans with fun superimposed snaps to Instagram on Tuesday night.

Getting creative, the TV presenters showed off their nifty Photoshop skills, as they were seen pining after the football season while cloning themselves in several states of despair in Ant’s living room.

Both Ant and Dec were decked out in Newcastle United kit to pay homage to their home team, with one version of Ant looking glum on the sofa, while another clasped his hands together as he sat on the floor in front of the TV.

One image of Dec saw him with his head in his hands, while another had Dec eagerly raising a NUFC scarf above his head and cheering enthusiastically.

The pair joked alongside their post: ‘Waiting for the football season to restart like….. #nufc.’

And it seems like their editing efforts paid off as Chronicle Live invited Ant and Dec to ‘pass the time’ instead by appearing on their Newcastle United podcast.

Ant and Dec’s upload comes as football fans are having to go without their weekly dose of the Premiere League.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, all Premier League matches have been suspended and will only resume once it has been deemed safe to do so.

It’s in adherence to current lockdown measures in place by the UK government that urge people to stay at home unless for essentials, to go to work, or once daily to exercise.

Schools have been shut until further notice, while bars, pubs, clubs, gyms, restaurants, cinemas and theatres have been closed to avoid large gatherings.

Latest figures reveal there are now currently over 129,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK, with the number of deaths now reaching more than 17,000.

Due to lockdown, Ant and Dec were forced to film the last few episodes of ITV’s Saturday Night Takeaway from home, after initially ditching their live studio audience mid way through this year’s series.

As the show wrapped earlier this month, Ant and Dec told fans it ‘hadn’t been the series they’d planned for’ given the current situation, but the pair hoped they had still managed to ‘put a smile’ on the faces of their viewers.

The finale saw Ant and Dec host the show via video link from their separate homes, with the episode instead compiling clips of the series’ best bits from over the years.

The duo were supposed to be hosting a live show from Orlando, Florida, but were forced to scrap such plans because of COVID-19.

Wrapping up the finale episode, Dec said: ‘Sadly that’s all we’ve got time for tonight and for this year, it wasn’t quite the series we planned or hoped to bring you.

‘But it has been a privilege to keep bringing you Saturday Night Takeaway to try and put a smile on your faces.’

Ant added: ‘We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has played a part in making this series, we honestly couldn’t have done it without you.’

The pair have since returned to screens, however, to host the new series of Britain’s Got Talent.

The show is currently airing its audition rounds that were filmed back in January and February earlier this year, before the current lockdown, and sees the return of judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon.
