Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes recently made headlines around the world after jokingly criticising Lindsay Lohan’s behaviour on the set of The Masked Singer Australia.   

And it appears his comments, which have become talking points on American talk shows, may have caused a slight divide between him and the actress.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the radio host shared the first promotional picture from the set on the new show, while awkwardly standing next to her.

‘I’m feeling pretty lucky here,’ the 48-year-old captioned the picture, with Lindsay to his left, and fellow judges Danni Minogue and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson to his right.  

Wearing a navy suit, black shirt and dress shoes, Dave appeared dapper.

But the comedian’s stance and hand gestures made him look somewhat uncomfortable as he stood besides Lindsay, amid rumours of a ‘feud’.

Speaking on his radio show Hughesy & Kate, he said: ‘She complained about the fact she had to go downstairs to smoke cigarettes.’ 

Dave also said that after a 15-minute cigarette break, Lindsay would return with her own personal note-taker.

As his comments made international headlines, fellow judge Jackie ‘O’ Henderson was quick to defended her colleague, saying that he was only joking.  

‘You know when Hughesy says something very tongue-in-cheek and then you read it in print it looks different,’ she said on The Kyle and Jackie O Show.

‘He’s got a certain style of comedy and he certainly doesn’t mean anything bad by it. He hasn’t got a bad bone in his body.’

Going global: American talk show host Wendy Williams also spoke about the feud stating the actress should be ‘be accountable and more reliable’

Meanwhile, the bizarre feud has also made international headlines with American TV star Wendy Williams defending Lindsay during a segment on her show.  

‘I think that Lindsay is good for the show, she is going to be as ratings draw,’ she said on The Wendy Williams Show last week. 

‘I like her but Lindsay you have to learn how to be accountable and more reliable.’
