Dani Dyer has revealed that “silly” arguments over “respect” prompted her short-lived split from boyfriend Jack Fincham, as she confirmed that the couple are now “absolutely fine.”
“Me and Jack are absolutely fine… we love each other,” she said on a forthcoming appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show.
The Love Island winner, who recently revealed that she no longer lives with Fincham, said that sharing a house had proved “too much” for the couple, as they ended up rowing over domestic tasks.
“When we first came out of Love Island, we moved into a flat together and we started filming [our own] show,” she told Ross.
“It was sort of way too much and our flat became a work home. It was really hard because we weren’t having those exciting times where you miss each other.
“He’ll drink a can of Coke and then leave it in the fridge… then I would get so upset about it and we’d be rowing over a towel, the row would be over a towel because I’d be like, ‘Where is your respect for me?’ It’s always over something silly.”
The 22-year-old briefly called time on her relationship with Fincham in December, before the couple announced that they’d decided to give things another go.
Dyer also opened up about the difficulties of sustaining a relationship in the limelight after appearing on the ITV2 dating show, telling Ross: “We are trying to build a relationship from a show where we met which is so bizarre and you have so much attention from it, and people go ‘It’s all money, it’s all for fame.’
“It’s just like, ‘Relax, chill, we are just trying to be happy.’ Life is tough so we’re just trying to make it work, that’s all we’re trying to do. We are together, we are so together, we are fine.”
The star previously admitted that she and Fincham, 27, had made the decision to live separately after failing to come to an agreement on a location.
“Jack didn’t want to live in Essex and I didn’t want to live in south London so we thought we’d both get our own places and live between them,” she told The Sun earlier this week.
“We’re building [the relationship] back slowly. We’d both moved out of our areas and to Wapping together, where we had none of our home comforts.”
The Jonathan Ross show airs on ITV on Saturday at 9.45pm.
