Some fans of the BBC Breakfast presenter agreed with him, with one viewers saying: “I thought he spoke really well & was honest about where and why things have gone wrong & taken time.”
Another commented: “I think he did really well actually and set his stool out early doors explained his reasoning. Regardless of your opinion of him and your thoughts on what he said, at least he gave an answer.”
A third stated: “Thought that was a brilliant address, honest, sincere and detailed. What we needed and should silence some of the critics who did not have the full picture! But now he must deliver!”
Others however, saw through the “smoke screen”, calling the promise a “vague statement and “logistical nightmare”.
