Each year as part of the Capcom Cup circuit, Street Fighter’s game developer Capcom selects a handful of tournaments across the world to serve as qualifiers for the main event. The winners of these selected events directly qualify to the Capcom Cup.

It has yet to be announced how many qualification spots the Cream City Convergence will have.

The tournament will take place on August 24th at the Baird Center, the home of NBA professional basketball team, the Milwaukee Bucks. Alongside Street Fighter 6, the Cream City Convergence will also host brackets for Tekken 8, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Super Smash Bros Melee and Guilty Gear: Strive.

The Capcom Pro Tour will also travel to France and Singapore in September and October, but the venues for these countries have yet to be announced.

Once at the Capcom Cup, players will compete for the chance to take home the $1m (£~790,000) winners prize. At the end of last month during the last day of Evo Japan 2024, it was announced that Capcom Cup 11 is to be held at the Ryōgoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan.

Originally founded as the NBA 2K League affiliate of the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks, Bucks Gaming has expanded to hosting events. Alongside the Cream City Convergence, Bucks Gaming previously hosted a collegiate VALORANT tournament called the Bucks Gaming Battlegrounds.
