Cox Enterprises has purchased a 13,237 square foot warehouse in the name of its Overwatch League team, Atlanta Reign. The new facility will house both Atlanta Reign and the Atlanta Esports Ventures/FaZe Clan joint venture, Atlanta FaZe of the Call of Duty League, a representative confirmed.

The purchase took place on Oct. 1 for $2.27M, according to Fulton County property records, and includes a 1960-era, one-story building located at 1290 Collier Rd NW in Atlanta, Georgia.

Atlanta Reign was one of three OWL teams to host a homestand weekend in 2019. Despite only being a part of the league for a few months, Reign fans sold out all 3,000 seats of Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Center both days.

The team is currently housed in a lavish Los Angeles mansion but will relocate to Atlanta for the 2020 season in order to better connect with fans, Atlanta Reign President and CEO Paul Hamilton told The Esports Observer in a previous interview.

“Our ability to activate before, during, and after the [homestand] event—and really engage the fans all year round—becomes totally different now that all of the teams will be going to live where they play,” he said.

Every Overwatch League team will host homestand weekends in its home market in 2020, and the Reign will have two such events in Atlanta. The first, on March 21-22, will be held at the 3,600-seat Coca-Cola Roxy, while the second homestand on June 13-14 has yet to receive an official venue.
