BABY food made by Cow & Gate has been urgently recalled from every major supermarket because it could contain pieces of blue rubber.
The company said fragments of a thin blue rubber glove were found in some jars of its Cheesy Broccoli Bake Stage 3 for babies aged 10 months or older.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has warned this would make the baby food “unsafe to eat”.
Cow & Gate says the affected jars don’t pose a health risk, but it is recalling them anyway because they don’t meet its standards.
The 250g jars were on sale at almost every major supermarket, including Asda, Boots, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, and Tesco.
Only one batch of the baby food was affected.

You should not be charged for any recall work – such as a repair, replacement or collection of the recalled item.
Customers should check any jars they’ve bought by looking for the batch code: 28122020.
The affected jars will also have a best before date of December 28, 2020.
If you have bought one of the recalled jars, do not feed it to your baby.
Instead, you can return the jar to the store you bought it from with or without a receipt and receive a full refund. Cow & Gate has promised.
A product recall notice issued by Cow & Gate said: “We are sorry that these jars do not meet our usual high quality standards and for any inconvenience this recall may cause.
“These jars do not pose a health risk, but we are recalling them as they do not meet our usual high quality standards.”

Other recall notices to look out for include Little Willies veggie sausages sold in Tesco and Waitrose because they may contain bits of plastic.
And Booths recalled corned beef because it could contain metal pieces.
Tesco and Asda have also pulled own brand cereal bars from shelves over fears they contain salmonella.
