COVID-19 got you stuck at home? Here’s 27 free video games you can play right now – Micky News

GOG releases complete catalog of free video games

Digital distribution platform GOG.com has released its complete catalog of free-to-play games as the number of people on self-quarantine and work-from-home setup continues to increase.

With the novel coronavirus pandemic showing no signs of slowing down, the gaming curator posted 27 titles ranging from classic games to recent releases on its website.

Titles from the ’80s, such as “Akalabeth: World of Doom” and “Ultima 4: Quest of the Avatar”, are included in the freeware catalog. The full catalog is available on the company’s website.

The release of the free-to-play games is part of the company’s “Stay at Home” promotion. Aside from this promo, GOG.com is also offering discounts of up to 90% on games as part of its Spring 2020 promotion.

Big savings on popular gaming bundles

Customers can also have the option of creating their own bundles with additional discounts depending on the number of games that they will purchase.

Some of the available bundles are:

  • Build Your Ubisoft Bundle. “Settlers 3: Ultimate Collection” ( less 50%), “Far Cry” ( less 60%), “Heroes of Might and Magic 3: Complete” ( less 75%), and more.
  • Build Your Deep Silver Bundle. “Outward” (less 50%), “Pathfinder: Kingmaker – Explorer Edition” (less 60%), “Saints Row IV: Game of the Century Edition” (less 75%), and more.
  • Build Your 1C Bundle. “Devil’s Hunt” (less 50%), “Ancestors Legacy” (less 66%), “Through the Woods” (less 80%), and more.
  • Build Your Beamdog Bundle. “Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition” (less 50%), “Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition” (less 50%), “Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition” (less 50%), and additional discounts when customers buy two or more games

Another surprise from GOG was its silent release of the classic “Mortal Kombat 4” game. The game was released in 1997 by Midway Games and quickly became one of the most popular arcade games. Despite its popularity, “Mortal Kombat 4” was not ported to any modern gaming platform.

GOG is also giving away “Witcher” bonus content for free. “The Witcher goodies collection” is a mash-up of several downloadable content (DLC) packs to complement the three main “Witcher” games.

The packs consist of different content for each “Witcher” game. These include comics, artworks, and printable paper toys. The game soundtrack is also included as a bonus. In total, players will have at least 2.6GB worth of freebies.

GOG offers DRM-free games including top-rated AAA games as well as games from independent studios. The website is currently engaged with more 600 partners including Capcom, Activision, EA, Ubisoft, and other major studios.
