KELLY Neelan is set to make Gary Windass’ life very hard as she makes a return to the Cobbles.
Actress Millie Gibson who plays the teen on Coronation Street, let slip she was back on the set of the beloved BBC soap after seven months away.
She posted two pics to her Instagram stories showing her back on set, including one in a make-up chair, with her character’s makeup bag in front of her.
She captioned the pic with the hashtag Neelans are back in town.
Millie, 16, also posted a photo outside the studios showing the famous Coronation Street sign.
Kel Allen, the actress who plays her mum Laura Neelan, shared the photo of Millie at the make-up chair to her own Instagram stories.
The actress gushed: “Proud mumma Neelan alert! Bubba Neelan @milliegibbo back where she belongs tearing up Weatherfield.”
The teen actress is set to reprise her role as troubled schoolgirl – and the daughter of evil loan shark Rick Neelan – later this year.
It’s thought that bosses have offered Millie a regular contract after she impressed them during her stint earlier this year.
Apparently, Millie returned to filming last week after a 7 month break, a sourced told The Sun Online.
It’s thought that Millie could possibly be filming the beginning of a huge plot which centres around the soap’s teen characters.
Bosses have already teased a ‘tragic’ plot involving the teens – including Millie’s character – will begin to play out on screen at the start of next year.
But her return could also have something to do with her dad Rick, after actor Greg Wood was spotted on set this week.
His character was brutally murdered by Gary Windass last summer and his reign of terror as an evil loan shark finally came to an end.
Since then Gary has managed to hide his secret for over a year, but things started to unravel after Rick’s daughter Kelly (Millie Gibson) first turned up in June 2019 and partner Laura Neelan (Kel Allen) turned earlier this year.
But now, actor Greg has sparked rumours Rick could make a shock return from the dead after fans spotted him at the soap’s set in Manchester.
One fan told The Sun Online: “Greg was happy to stop and pose for pictures just steps away from the soap set’s gate.
“He said he was happy to be busy and back to work after lockdown but wouldn’t say what he was filming or if he’d be playing Rick again.”
Coronation Street denied the character is returning to the soap, saying he wouldn’t appear in flashbacks either.
Last June Kelly showed up to Rick’s old office and found Gary there and demanded to know where her dad was.
Gary pretended to be a client of her father and that he had gone on the run, and this year he has since tried to take her under his wing.
But Gary was shocked out of his skin when he spotted Kelly in the cafe with Asha and Summer earlier this month wearing the local school’s uniform.
As far as we know, Kelly isn’t aware that Gary murdered her father.
But she definitely knows there’s something fishy about Gary after she questioned him about the disappearance of Rick last year.
