Coronation Street spoilers: Beloved family ripped apart as heartbreaking betrayal exposed?

The Bailey family moved onto the cobbles early last year and have slowly integrated themselves in the local community. Fans are still learning about the family and why they moved to Coronation Street but in coming episodes, viewers will see them ripped apart.

Fans of the long-running ITV soap have known for some time James Bailey (played by Nathan Graham) is gay but his father Ed (Trevor Michael Georges) is still unaware of his son’s sexuality.

In coming episodes, knowing the house to be empty, James take his father’s pal Danny (Dylan Brady) back to No. 3 and leads him up the stairs.

Over breakfast the next day, James finally plucks up the courage to tell his father Ed he is gay.

Ed does his best to take in the news without revealing his shock but it quickly becomes clear he is struggling.

But it’s not just the fact James has kept his sexuality hidden which leaves Ed feeling hurt.

“The betrayal is expanded further when Ed discovers the love interest of his own son is someone he knows and he has a difficult time trying to process this on his own,” Trevor added.

Ed will be further isolated when he realises his family are comfortable speaking openly about James’ new romance while he is still processing the news.

“Everyone is talking to each other except him and because he is new to the area, he has no-one to talk it through with,” Trevor spilled.
