Cool stay of the week: a luxury glass lodge on the Cornish coast

On the 97-acre Clowance Estate in Cornwall, you’ll find this week’s Cool Stay of the Week.

The Glass Lodge is a uniquely stylish holiday home with a modern design. The A-frame lodge both contrasts with, and complements, its natural surroundings.

The lodge sleeps up to six guests, with a large master bedroom, a twin bedroom and a mezzanine level with two beds making it the perfect place to take the children on holiday.

Complete with its own private sunken hot tub and sun terrace, this is the ultimate spot to relax and unwind with a glass of wine underneath the stars after a day out exploring the Cornish coast.

Floor to ceiling glass doors open outwards to reveal the light and airy interior. A comfy corner sofa sits in front of the flat screen TV at one end of the spacious open plan living space, while at the other is the fully equipped kitchen. A breakfast bar with high stools and table seating six offers variable options for dining.

The estate is home to acres of parkland and woodland, with plenty to explore. For those that want to relax on site there is a spa, gym, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and restaurant and bar. The more adventurous might want to head out onto the boating lake, discover the woodland trails, or play badminton, tennis and golf.

Cornwall’s beautiful coastline is only five miles from the estate and there is something to please everyone. Gwithian Beach is the closest to the estate and a family friendly beach. For surfers, Portreath Beach might be more appealing, while the small town offers up independent shops and cafes. Alternatively St Ives and its stunning beaches is just a short drive away, as is the Eden Project, Flambards and Newquay Zoo.
