Coleen Rooney accused of 'bullying' by WAG on GMB amid Rebekah Vardy row

Coleen Rooney, 33, took to social media yesterday to accuse Rebekah Vardy’s account of leaking stories to The Sun.

She told her 1.2million Twitter followers: “For a few years now someone who I trusted to follow me on my personal Instagram, account has been consistently informing The Sun newspaper of my private posts and stories.”

Rebekah, 37, hit back and said: “I’m not being funny but I don’t need the money, what would I gain from selling stories on you?”

Over the past few months, Coleen turned detective and posted a series of false stories to her private Instagram account to see if they would end up in the publication.

GMB’s Susanna Reid calls out Coleen Rooney for ‘not calling Rebekah’ amid fallout

On August 15 The Sun ran an exclusive story claiming Coleen travelled to Mexico to look into gender selection treatment in a bid to have a baby girl.

Coleen, 33, made headlines in the paper again on September 28 when the publication claimed Rooney was in talks to join Strictly next year to revive her TV career when Wayne returns to the UK.

The Sun also ran a story claiming the Rooney’s £20m mansion was flooded in a storm Lorenzo washout.

Discussing the row on Good Morning Britain today, GMB hosts Ben Shephard and Susanna Reid interviewed WAGS Chantelle Heskey and Kerry Whelpdale.

Chantelle thought Coleen was right to publicly call out Rebekah Vardy’s account, while Kerry said while it’s wrong to leak stories to the press, Coleen was wrong to publicly shame Rebekah Vardy’s account.

Kerry, who is married to Chelmsford City player Mark Whelpdale, said: “It shouldn’t have been dealt with this way.

“Coleen could have gone the route of getting a private investigator.

“Two wrongs don’t make a right They’re both going to get trolling.

She concluded: “It’s a form of bullying in a way and I don’t think it’s acceptable.

“I don’t agree with selling stories at all but there’a better way to handle it.”

Chantelle Heskey took a decidedly different approach to the situation however.

Emille Heskey’s wife said: “There’s only so much someone can take.

“I think her whole life is played out in public as it is she’s private person enough is enough.

“I just think good for you.”
