Coleen Nolan says her fifties have been 'tough' and sex-free

Coleen Nolan has revealed she hasn’t had sex in two years in a new interview.

The Loose Women panellist, 54 – who divorced Ray Fensome in December 2018 – insisted she ‘can’t imagine’ being in another relationship, but admitted she misses ‘romance’ and is fearful she’ll ‘never kiss someone again’.

The media personality also touched on dealing with the menopause as she confessed her fifties have been ‘some of the toughest years’ of her life and said the ageing process has made her feel ‘blue’.

Coleen tied the knot to Leeds musician Ray in November 2017, ten years after her divorce from EastEnders star Shane Richie – with whom she shares Shane Jr., 31, and Jake Roche, 27.

In December last year, the presenter – who is also a mother to Ciara, 18 – announced she and the singer had split as their marriage couldn’t be ‘saved’.

On her romance life since her divorce, the I’m In the Mood for Dancing hitmaker has revealed she is currently celibate and doesn’t miss sex.

Coleen said in this week’s OK! magazine: ‘I don’t want to spend the rest of my life celibate but I just can’t imagine even being with someone again. I haven’t looked at anyone or fancied anyone for three years.

‘I miss romance. I miss kissing, I love kissing. The thought of never kissing someone again is awful. I could never just have a friends with benefits because it’s not the sex I miss. I miss male company. I miss having someone around if the boiler breaks!’

Injecting a hint of humour into her love woes, the brunette joked she’d love to meet a ‘rich sugar daddy’, but has received ‘horrendous’ intimate images from younger men on social media instead.

Aside from her divorce, the Blackpool native is still coping with the loss of her sister Bernie, who died from cancer in 2013 aged 52, and has felt ‘blue’ since entering her fifties.

The CBB star detailed: ‘I felt redundant as a woman. Obviously I lost Bernie, which started all this off, then I hit the menopause, so my hormones have been all over the place. I was blue. I sometimes had to force myself to get out of bed.’

According to NHS, menopause is a ‘natural part of ageing that usually occurs between 45 and 55 years of age, as a woman’s oestrogen levels decline. In the UK, the average age for a woman to reach the menopause is 51’.

Coleen has been open about her mental health in the past as she previously revealed she had counselling for six months after her divorce from soap star Shane, 55.

She said on Loose Women back in April 2016: ‘I had counselling over a period of six months. The first time I walked in I was so embarrassed, I’m saying to my friends, ‘what am I going to say to this stranger? She doesn’t even know me.

‘I spent the first 25 minutes sobbing before I said one word and I’d never cried in front of anyone and then it was just having somebody there who had no preconception of me or of Shane.

‘All she did was over a period of time was put logic back into my way of thinking because everything was just out of control and I never really believed in counselling up until that point…[but] it worked so amazingly for me.’

Coleen’s interview came after her sister Linda, 60, revealed she hasn’t had sex in the 12 years since her husband Brian Hudson’s death in 2017 from skin cancer.

The TV star admitted she has ‘issues’ with her body and would like to lose the weight she gained through her own cancer battle.

The Loose Women panellist – who has scars from a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery – confessed that, although she would like to have sex, she’s ‘not climbing the walls.’

Now 12 years after her husband’s death, the widow confessed she is ready to find a new love to give her companionship for the next chapter of her life.

Linda told new! magazine: ‘No [I haven’t slept with anyone] and I lost him 12 years ago. Don’t worry, I’m not climbing the walls.’

Linda told the publication that, while she would like to have sex as part of a new relationship, she has ‘issues with her body because of the scars’ from her surgeries.

The star was first diagnosed first diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in 2006, but the disease returned two years ago, this time in her hip.

Although the star went into remission, the cancer returned in 2017, and was diagnosed as incurable.

She also explained that she would like to lose the weight she had put on through being unwell.

Linda said: ‘Of course and sex is part of that. I have issues with my body right now.

‘I want to lose the weight I’ve put on through being ill and I’ve got issues because of the scars from my mastectomy and the reconstruction surgery.’
