The triathlon-style challenges will see the stars step out of their comfort zones as they are coached and trained in running, swimming and cycling before competing.

The six male and six female competitors will battle it out in the athletics arena, the swimming pool, gymnasium and velodrome, putting their sporting talents to the test in events from an 100-metre sprint and diving.

As well as live event coverage, each episode will also feature the celebrities’ gruelling training for the challenges, as they are taught the sports from scratch by some of the UK’s top coaches.

The celebrities will attempt to creep up the leaderboard, before the series will come to a head in a final showdown, which will see one male and one female champion crowned.

The week-long event, produced by Initial, will be hosted live by Holly Willoughby and Freddie Flintoff, while Alex Scott will star as trackside reporter and Chris Kamara will be commentator.

Sharing her delight at hosting the show, Holly said: ‘I’m really excited to be presenting The Real Games with Freddie and the rest of the team. I can’t wait to watch our celebrity competitors go head-to-head.’

While Freddie added: ‘This is going to be a brilliant week of TV. Our celeb competitors will need to be at the top of their game to be in with a chance of topping the medals table.’

The Games will run for five episodes, two with a 90-minute runtime and the other three coming in at an hour each.
