Christie Brinkley broke her arm while rehearsing for the hit series Dancing With The Stars.
The blonde model, 65, now has to drop out of the competition show, which will debut on Monday evening. But there is good news: her supermodel daughter Sailor Brinkley Cook will take her place.
On Monday morning ABC released a statement on the Sports Illustrated star’s departure.
‘While rehearsing for the premiere of Dancing with the Stars, Christie Brinkley suffered injuries which required surgery to her wrist and arm,’ the release said.

‘She is unable to continue her planned participation on the show. Keeping it all in the family, her daughter Sailor Brinkley-Cook, a Sports Illustrated model, has chosen to quickly step in with hours to learn the entire routine and will compete in her mother’s place for the remainder of the season.
‘We wish Christie a full and speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her in the audience, whenever possible, proudly supporting Sailor.’
The bombshell was all set to debut on season 28 of Dancing with the Stars on Monday.
But now she will have to sit it out in the audience with her daughter Alexa Ray Joel as they watch Sailor try the Samba.

Brinkley looked excited to compete on the show on Sunday as she took to Instagram during a fitting.
She showed off her model body and dancer form in a blue leotard, captioning the photo: ‘I’m so excited for tomorrow’s show!’
Brinkley also included an inspirational quote by Pope Pius: ‘To live without risk is to risk not living.’

The outfit featured long sheer sleeves, jewels running down the front and fringe around the hem.
In addition, the beauty posted a boomerang of herself doing a twist in the outfit as the fringe twirled with her hips.
The National Lampoon’s Vacation star was spotted last week walking into rehearsals with her co-stars.
She wore a lilac sweater with a built-in belt tied at the waist, paired with some skintight black bike shorts, which showed off her toned legs.
This season also features Lauren Alaina, Ally Brooke, Hannah Brown, Karamo Brown, Kate Flannery, Ray Lewis, Kel Mitchell, Lamar Odom, Sean Spicer, James Van Der Beek and Mary Wilson.
