Chelsea boss Frank Lampard says Christian Pulisic will be assessed in the next 24 hours after sustaining a calf injury in his side’s 1-0 win against Leicester City.

The Blues booked their path into the semi-finals of the FA Cup after Ross Barkley scored in the second half to set-up a tie against Manchester United.

Chelsea were well below-par in the first half and Lampard made three substitutions at half-time in a bid to reverse his side’s fortunes.

Pulisic has been Chelsea’s standout performer since the season resumed and the American’s scored crucial goals against Manchester City and Aston Villa to aid the club’s bid for a top four spot.

Chelsea take on rivals at West Ham at the London Stadium on Wednesday and Lampard says the winger could be a doubt after he felt pain in his calf.

‘He felt tightness in his calf during the second drinks break so I took him off straight away,’ said Lampard.

‘We’ll see in the next day [or so].’

Lampard made a number of changes, starting the likes of Reece James, Billy Gilmour and Tammy Abraham.

Andreas Christensen was a notable absentee from the victory against City and Lampard says a hip problem kept the Dane out.

‘Andreas had a problem in his hip,’ said Lampard.

‘He didn’t feel comfortable in training yesterday so he was out of the squad.’
