Chrissy Teigen says she is still trying to come to terms with the fact she won’t be able to get pregnant again after years of fertility struggles.

The model and husband John Legend lost their third child Jack, who would have been born in February, 20 weeks into her pregnancy last year.

Speaking in the new issue of PEOPLE magazine, the model explained that she reminds herself that her inability to carry a child again is not a failure.

The cookbook author told the publication: ‘Coming to terms with not being able to carry again is still really difficult for me because I feel so healthy.

‘I’m like, why? But then I think about it as my uterus is just not cooperating with me — and it’s not a failure.’

The star, who welcomed daughter Luna, four, and two-year-old son, Miles, via IVF, went on to explain feeling ‘lucky’ she was able to have the option.

She continued: ‘I’m so lucky for that,” she says. “I just think of it in terms of how blessed I am already, and also there are so many ways to have a child nowadays … whether it’s surrogacy or adoption.’

Chrissy stated she can’t imagine a ‘life without more’ children and wants to use her power to help other couples who have struggles with starting a family.

She explained: ‘For me what’s really important is being able to make sure that everybody has access to those ways and making sure that people are able to make their dreams come true.

‘It would just be a beautiful thing. It’s so incredibly expensive to freeze your eggs and to harvest them. IVF isn’t an option for a lot of people and it needs to be. It shouldn’t be such an expensive endeavor for a woman trying to conceive a child.’

Elsewhere in the cover interview with the magazine, Chrissy revealed the tribute herself and John have for planned for their son in their new family home.

The 35-year-old revealed she and John are building a new house and want to put a tree indoors in memory of their son, with his ashes in the soil.

After losing Jack the couple got matching tattoos of his name on their arms.
