Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction has become Netflix’s most watched original production of all time.

The action movie, which was released onto the streaming service in April, has been viewed by 99 million accounts within the first month of its release, according to CNet.

It has beat competition from Sandra Bullock’s 2018 motion picture Birdbox, which was watched by 89 million upon release, as well as fantasy series The Witcher, with 76 million.

Rounding off the top five is docuseries Tiger King, which saw 64 million accounts tune in after its release back in March, and reality series Too Hot To Handle with 51 million.

Back in May, Chris had thanked fans ‘that checked out Extraction and made it the number 1 film’ on Netflix – and the service also estimated that it would become their biggest feature film to date.

‘[That] is absolutely mind blowing and we are blown away by the response and the support,’ Chris said at the time.

‘So, on behalf of myself, the Russo brothers, Netflix and director Sam Hargrave, thank you so so much. We love you guys.’

In case you haven’t already seen Extraction, the film sees Chris take on the role of market mercenary Tyler Rake, who has to carry out his most dangerous mission yet, as he’s tasked with rescuing the kidnapped son of a crime lord.

Originally named Out Of The Fire, the movie also features Tyler entering a mysterious-looking underworld as he does his best to avoid drug traffickers and weapons dealers.

Rudhraksh Jaiswal, Pankaj Tripathy, Derek Luke and Chris Jai Alex also star in the film alongside Chris – and if that wasn’t enough, Stranger Things star David Harbour plays one of Tyler’s enemies, a person who is super pessimistic about his chances of surviving the mission.

With some cinemas still not open across the UK yet, now is the perfect opportunity to sit back and relax to watch this epic adventure.

Extraction is available to stream on Netflix.
