Chelsea star SLAMMED by Gary Neville despite Europa League final win over Arsenal

Gary Neville tweeted during the fixture his thoughts on the first-half, and singled out Kepa Arrizabalaga as a liability for Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea.

Despite keeping a clean sheet in the opening 45 minutes of the eventual 4-1 victory, Kepa opted to punch instead of catching several crosses, which left Neville nervous about what he would be like as a team-mate.

He tweeted: “Nothing personal but I just can’t accept a keeper like Kepa.

“He would make every defence a nervous wreck.”

The former Manchester United defender went on to admit that after his claim, Kepa could’ve gone on to prove him wrong.

He added: “P.s probably man of the match now!”

Cesc Fabregas, who played for both Chelsea and Arsenal, was on punditry duty for the clash, and picked out one Arsenal star that wouldn’t have started if Henrikh Mkhitaryan had been available.

“I think [Mkhitaryan] would have started to be honest,” Fabregas said on BT Sport.

“For some reason Emery doesn’t trust Ozil too much in big games.

“That’s why I think he would have started Mkhitaryan and put Ozil on in the second half.

“But it’s his decision, Mkhitaryan, he didn’t feel safe.

“You have to respect it at the end of the day. It’s his decision.”

“Well a massive blow,” Martin Keown added about Mkhitaryan’s absence.

“I’m pretty certain he would have played some part of it. He’s been a big plus.

“I’d like to have seen more from him but Arsenal haven’t got enough quality players to have one of their special players stepping out like that.

“He’s played in this final before, Arsenal haven’t got a lot of big-game experience.”
