Chelsea player ratings vs Bournemouth: Forwards fail to fire as Blues slip to defeat

Chelsea suffered their fourth defeat in five Premier League matches after Dan Gosling’s strike sealed victory for Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge. The defeat leaves the Blues fourth in the table but just four points ahead of Sheffield United.

Chelsea dominated for much of the match but failed to create many clear-cut chances, with Tammy Abraham going closest when he fired into the side netting early on.

Bournemouth stopper Aaron Ramsdale denied Emerson Palmieri twice while Kepa Arrizabalaga made a solid stop from the impressive Ryan Fraser before the Cherries took the lead with five minutes remaining.

Dominic Solanke appeared to be in an offside position but Gosling stole in to beat Kepa to the ball and hook goalwards – with the winner given after a VAR review.
