JAMES Martin is set to stun fans as he plays with his band at Chris Evans’ CarFest South this weekend.
The 47-year-old chef will take to the stage this afternoon as the headline warm-up act and show fans there’s more to him than cooking.
James started to learn to play the guitar in 2016 and was roped in to perform at the festival when he appeared on Chris’ Virgin Radio Breakfast show.
Afterwards he told fans: “It’s official, announced on @virginradiouk by Chris Evans my mate… or rather ex mate [crying with laughter emoji].
“We, I say we, my band will play @carfestevent South Sat night, first ever gig all for @bbccin.
“Learning in a scout hut then 40k people! Be nice out there as every spare min spent practising!”
James has been practising hard and earlier this month the festival’s official Facebook page shared a picture of him at home on his guitar.
They revealed: “The one and only James Martin at home practicing for his musical guest appearance on the CarFest South!
“James will be joining us for WHOLE weekend at CarFest South where you can also catch his live demo on the #CarFEAST Kitchen Stage and check out his super cool cars on the track.
“See him on the Main Stage on Saturday 24th August as the headline warmup act… we hope you are as excited as we are!”
Chris’ Car-Fest, which was set up by presenter in 2011, is an annual family music and motoring event held in Cheshire and Hampshire.
The ‘North’ leg of the festival took place last month, while the second in the ‘South’ is happening this weekend.
It is taking place over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire.
