Centre O’Conor to join Connacht from Bristol

Bristol Bears centre and full-back Piers O’Conor will join Irish United Rugby Championship side Connacht at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old has made 137 appearances for the club over six seasons after joining from Ealing Trailfinders in 2018.

O’Conor has scored 36 tries for the Bears and helped the club win their first European trophy by beating Toulon in the Challenge Cup final in 2020.

“Piers has been a fantastic servant to this club,” director of rugby Pat Lam said., external

“His journey from the Championship to being a Bears centurion shows how hard he has worked and developed.

“I have no doubt that his dedication and work ethic will soon make him a fan favourite in the west of Ireland and we wish him all the best with another great club in Connacht.”

The Bears currently sit fourth in the Premiership on 49 points with two games – against Saracens and Harlequins – remaining in their current campaign.
