Darren Day and Stephanie Dooley have split after 11 years of marriage, with the Emmerdale star confirming online that she’s now a ‘single parent’.
The pair, who tied the knot in 2007, reportedly split back in October, but didn’t address the separation in the public eye.
However, Stephanie has been sharing some motivational snaps to her social media, including one which reads: ‘I didn’t set out to be a single parent. I set out to be the best parent I could be…and that hasn’t changed.’
‘Absolutely so blessed to have my babies. #myworld #family #singlemum & #lovinglife,’ she wrote in the caption.
A spokesperson for the couple told Hello! magazine: ‘Stephanie and Darren separated back in October 2018. It is a personal matter that they have chosen to deal with privately. There was nobody else involved on either side.’
The pair renewed their vows two years ago, with Darren saying at the time: ‘When I looked at Steph today I thought I love you so much, the strength we share is even greater now.
‘My love for her on our wedding day was so strong but what I felt for her at the blessing is a hundred times stronger. We knew this would be a special day but it even surpassed our wedding day a little bit.’
Meanwhile, Steph spoke about being proud of her husband’s ‘sobriety and strength.’
Stephanie, 43, who shares two children with the former Celebrity Big Brother star, has been busy enjoying a getaway to Greece with some family.
‘Crete you’ve been amazing ☀️ had the best time with my kids & @pollydooley @shaun_dooley_ my nephew & nieces love you all,’ she wrote on Instagram.
She also described herself as being in a ‘very happy place’ at the moment in a heartwarming tweet.
Darren was previously romantically linked to actresses including Anna Friel, Coronation Street star Tracy Shaw, and Isla Fisher.
