Former Celebrity Big Brother contestant Samantha Fox has admitted in court to causing a drunken disruption on a British Airways flight but has denied assaulting her wife during the incident.
The 57-year-old model, accompanied by her wife, Linda Olsen, 47, was accused of instigating a drunken altercation that disrupted the flight’s departure from London Heathrow to Munich, a court has heard. She was also accused of assaulting Olsen.
Fox spent a night in jail following the incident on December 3, 2023.
According to reports, Fox’s behaviour prompted passengers to be asked to disembark, leading to an overnight stay in a hotel before continuing their journey the following day.
The Sun detailed the tumultuous event, revealing that Fox threatened a police officer upon her arrest and spent a night in police custody.
Appearing at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on April 12, 2024, she pleaded guilty to being drunk and engaging in disorderly behaviour on the aircraft but denied the charge of assault by beating.
Additionally, Fox admitted to using threatening behaviour towards Officer Ashley Smith, causing harassment, alarm, or distress.
Fox’s first claim to fame was as a page three glamour model for The Sun during the 1980s. She then transitioned to music, releasing hits like Touch Me (I Want Your Body) and Nothing’s Gonna Stop Me Now, which solidified her status as a prominent figure in the entertainment industry.
Most recently, Fox has appeared on reality television programs. She featured in Celebrity Big Brother in 2016, finishing in seventh place. In 2023, she appeared on Celebrity MasterChef.
Fox’s personal life has also garnered major media attention, particularly her relationship with Olsen, which commenced in 2016 following the passing of Fox’s former partner, Myra Stratton.
The couple tied the knot in a Eurovision Song Contest-themed ceremony in Epping Forest, Essex, in June 2022.
As the legal proceedings unfold, Fox is set to stand trial on September 2, facing the consequences of her actions aboard the British Airways flight.
