Capcom Home Arcade is £200 worth of coin-op classics in one mini(-ish) console

Yes, that’s really what the console looks like

The rumours about Capcom entering the mini-console market have proven to be true, but is 16 arcade classics enough to justify the price?

The Capcom Home Arcade is quite a different beast to the Classic Mini SNES or PlayStation Classic, as it features only original Capcom arcade games and costs a whopping £199.99.

That price is primarily because the console features two arcade quality Sanwa joysticks, which actually makes the price fairly reasonable if you know what they usually go for.

The two joysticks are perfect for arcade fighters such as Street Fighter II and Darkstalkers, although the console only contains a fairly meagre 16 games.

Some of them, such as Alien Vs. Predator and Mega Man: The Power Battle, have never seen a proper home release before but it’s far from a comprehensive collection – as you can see in the full list of games below.

The console will connect directly to your TV but it also has Wi-Fi capabilities for online leaderboards, but not online multiplayer.

The Capcom Home Arcade will be released on 25 October at all major retailers and there’s a bare bones Amazon listing now where you can pre-order.

There’s also the official website, which provides a bit more information, although there doesn’t seem to be any indication that you can additional games as DLC – which seems a bit of a shame.
