Cameron Boyce got an emotional shout out from Descendants director Kenny Ortega on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame on Wednesday.

Kenny became fought back tears as he dedicated his Hollywood star to Cameron – who died in his sleep aged 20 on July 6 – in a heartbreaking speech.

Recalling the Descendants actor, Kenny told the crowd: ‘Cameron Boyce was so excited for me and wanted to be here.’

‘His extraordinary talent and loving heart will be remembered through his foundation, the Cameron Boyce Foundation,’ he added, in a clip obtained by TMZ.

Kenny went on to recall some inspiring words the young actor once bestowed him with.

‘Cameron said, “We can’t take it with us so it’s about what you leave”. With this, I promise, Cameron, I will carry goodness with me in all areas of my life,’ Kenny vowed, as he choked back tears.

Kenny was supported by a slew of Descendants stars while receiving his Star, in what was the first public appearance for the cast since Cameron’s death.

Choreographer Kenny also shared a tribute to Cameron on his Instagram last week, in which he called the late actor ‘the most loving boy’.

He wrote: ‘The light in the room got brighter whenever Cameron walked in. He was an electrifying performer and the kindest and most loving boy. Cameron shared his gifts with us for too short a time.’

The Disney star died on 6 July due to an ‘ongoing medical condition’, with a spokesperson confirming the news: ‘It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron.’

‘He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.’

Cameron’s mother Libby recently broke his silence following his death to share a black and white snap of him and call him her ‘compass’.

The actor previously hailed his philanthropic work as his ‘greatest fulfillment’, just months before his death.

His loved ones have now set up a charity titled the Cameron Boyce Foundation, which helps provide creative outlets to young people.
