A CANNY businessman is saving £1,000 a month on bills after building an eco home that costs £15 a month to run.
Chris Marsh, 36, moved in March into the 180-square foot wooden cabin on wheels, which has two bedrooms, a kitchen and living area on two floors.
He previously rented a two-bedroom property at Hexham, Northumberland, for £650 a month plus bills of around £400.
But he spent 11 weeks constructing his eco home on land he bought in January for £110,000.
Chris, who worked in the building trade, sells 30 of the £50,000 homes a year via his Tiny Eco Homes UK company.
He said: “My old house was lovely but it wasn’t remotely economical and it was constantly cold.
