Burnley 0-1 Man City LIVE: Latest updates as City chase leaders Liverpool, Jesus goal

Manchester City travel to Burnley this evening with bridging the gulf between them and Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table high on their agenda. The reigning champions trail Jurgen Klopp’s Reds by 11 points following the first 14 games of the 2019/20 campaign and are facing a battle to stay in the title race.

City were held to a 2-2 draw by Newcastle last time out but have not lost in their past eight matches against Burnley – a run stretching back to March 2015.

Pep Guardiola will be without Sergio Aguero through injury, so it will fall upon Gabriel Jesus’ shoulders to lead the line and take the game to the Clarets.

Burnley could have welcomed back Ashley Westwood from suspension but the midfield dynamo is not in the matchday 18 as Sean Dyche rotates his team following the 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Burnley are 10th to City’s third so far this season and Express Sport are on hand with live updates as the sides go head-to-head in the Premier League at Turf Moor.
