Bruno Fernandes accuses Pep Guardiola of disrespect during Man Utd derby win

Bruno Fernandes has accused Pep Guardiola of disrespecting him in the Manchester derby.

United midfielder Fernandes was caught on camera making a shushing gesture to City boss Guardiola in the second-half of the Reds’ 2-0 win at Old Trafford.

Fernandes claimed he made the gesture towards Guardiola, who was standing on the touchline, because the City boss was disrespectful to him.

“I talked about [the incident] with some friends,” said Fernandes, who has excelled for United following his £46.6million move from Sporting Lisbon.

“Some people think like, ‘Pep won everything, who is Bruno to do this to him?’

But I think it’s about respect. Now, outside of the pitch, calm, I don’t do this again if I’m on the pitch now.

“But at that moment, the words he told me made me mad and, on the pitch, I’m a little bit nervous. It’s the kind of player I am.”

Fernandes, speaking to Sky, added: “I have respect for Pep and what he wins and what he did for football, because he changed some mentalities in football.

“But I think in that moment, he didn’t respect me, so he didn’t deserve my respect at that moment on the pitch.”
