Britney Spears pictured leaving mental health facility today as boyfriend Sam Asghari picks her up following her release

BRITNEY Spears has been released from rehab today and was pictured being picked up by boyfriend Sam Asghari – just days after she was forced to deny fan claims she was being held against her will.

The troubled superstar checked herself into a mental health facility earlier this month after struggling to cope with her father Jamie’s illness.

At the time, the star, 37, also revealed she’d cancelled her second Las Vegas residency.

She has now left the treatment centre with sources telling TMZ that she is still dealing with “a big, unresolved issue… her meds”.

They added that doctors still haven’t figured out the right formula, calling it “a work in progress”.

The sources also claimed Britney did not check-in to get her medication right, but rather to get her head straight and while she is said to be doing “a lot better” doctors are continuing to work on her cocktail of meds.

Just yesterday Britney revealed how her troubles had affected her weight.

She wrote on Instagram after losing weight due to stress: “Who knew stress would be a great 5 pound weight loss. Yay for me!”

It comes after the star broke her silence amid reports she was suffering with “severe emotional distress”.

Britney also finally addressed the fan theories that she was being held against her will in rehab.

In an emotional video posted on Instagram, the singer thanked fans but said that rumours had “got out of control”.

She said: All is well. My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately, so I just needed time to deal.

“But don’t worry, I’ll be back very soon.”

This is not Britney’s first stint in rehab as the brave star has battled with mental health issues for years.

Britney originally handed over control of her business decisions and finances to her dad Jamie in February 2008, following her 2007 breakdown.
