Britain’s Got Talent singer who 'made Simon Cowell cry' heading for Dragons Den

Phil Neale, 29, appeared on the 2015 series of Britain’s Got Talent alongside his father and brothers, but it seems he has another trick up his sleeve.

Revealing his link to the hit ITV show, he told Deborah Meaden, Peter Jones, Tej Lalvani, Sara Davies and Theo Paphitis: “In 2015, I made the live final of Britain’s Got Talent and I made Simon Cowell cry in the semi-final.

“One year later, I managed to disrupt the UK charts managing a slightly cheesy family band.”

Phil made the final of BGT with The Neales

The 29-year-old was then asked by Phil to show off his singing ability, with the dragon saying: “Sometimes you have to do things that are slightly out of your comfort zone.”

Shocked by the challenge, he went on to say: “I will not sing very well” but gave into the dragon’s request and gave them a taste of Soul Sister by Train.

However, the singers plan to win investment for his sleep app, Snoozle — didn’t go down too well with the dragons.

The former singer failed to win investment

Speaking to the Birmingham Mail, the Brummie said: “Snoozle is an app that helps people switch off with their world.

“It’s about people caring about their sleep routine from falling asleep to audio content through to a fun social wake-up social experience to voice messages from friends.

After leaving the den, Neale said: “Pitching in front of the dragons is out of your comfort one, anyway so Peter asking me to sing was an extra test.

The Dragons didn’t invest in Snoozle

“I’m sure I wasn’t very in tune, but neither was Snoozle today.”

Phil, his dad and brothers made it to the BGT finals but lost out to Jules O’Dwyer and Mattise.

Dragon’s Den airs Sunday at 8pm on BBC One
