HE’S the showstopping teen who proved that anyone can dance if they’ve got enough heart and soul.
Akshat Singh sailed through to Monday’s first live semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent after his performance saw him earn Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly’s golden buzzer.
Born in Mumbai, India, the 14-year-old wowed the judges in the audition stage, ending his amazing routine by telling the audience: “Fat people CAN dance.”
And it’s a message he thinks will go down well here in the UK.
He said: “People in Britain are really, really good.
“Some are really fat like me so I love them. I have taught some of them a bit of dance, there are a lot of people who are really nice.
“They just want to do a little bit of dance with me and I teach them.
“They are really, really happy and they are really honest, they are really happy and they make others happy.”
But Akshat, who viewers can see dancing tonight again on ITV from 7.30pm, once had to suffer the misery of being taunted by cruel bullies.
He said: “A lot of kids teased me, so I did not feel good.
“So that time I just made a promise that I will dance and show everyone that people who are fat or black, tall, short it doesn’t matter, it matters what you’re doing from the bottom of your heart.
“I showed everyone that fat people can dance.”
Just to prove how good a dancer Akshat really was, I sent showbiz reporter Joe Kasper along to try and compete with him.
It‘s fair to say there was no competition . . .

Line of duty
WHEN PC Dave Wardell and his police dog Finn performed in Britain’s Got Talent there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
Judge Simon Cowell and presenter Ant McPartlin welled up when it was revealed the loyal German Shepherd risked his life to protect his owner when they faced an attacker with a ten-inch knife.
Dave said: “I couldn’t watch the video of Finn’s wounds as I thought I would burst into tears and if you look at Simon it’s having the same effect on him.
“I absolutely adore my dogs and it’s very clear to me that Simon does too.” Dave and Finn have plenty more tricks up their sleeve on tonight’s show. Dave said: “Finn might be ten but you can definitely still teach an old dog new tricks.”

KT longs to meet sisters
SCOTTISH rocker KT Tunstall will appear in the upcoming series of Long Lost Family searching for her sisters.
The ITV show, presented by Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell, normally only features members of the public who are looking for loved ones.
But the Suddenly I See singer, a Brit award winner, has a complicated family background.
She was adopted by her Scottish parents, David and Rosemary Tunstall of St Andrews, Fife.
She later traced her birth parents, Carol and David Orr who gave her up for adoption when she was 18 days old.
Now Kate will be seen on a mission to find her siblings when the new series starts next month.
I wish her every luck.
