Brendan Urie wants to work with Kacey Musgraves next because he’s not content with one country queen

Panic! At The Disco lead singer and recent Taylor Swift collaborator Brendan Urie has set his sights on Kacey Musgraves for his next duet.

Speaking during an Ask Anything YouTube stream, the High Hopes singer said Kacey was the first person that came to his mind when thinking of who he wanted to work with next.

‘I’m a huge Kacey Musgraves fan,’ he added.

Brendan went on to explain that he has actually met Kacey before at one of Clive Davis’ legendary parties.

He said: ‘We sat at the same table. I sat at the same table as Kacey and Maren Morris and the amazingly kind people from Lady Antebellum. I remember sitting across from Kacey and me and my wife [Sarah Orzechowski] were just losing it.

‘I’m a huge fan of her voice, her songwriting style. I think that would be really, really fun to do.’

The singer recently collaborated with superstar Taylor Swift on her smash hit single ME! which has broken a YouTube record after gaining 65.2 million views in just 24 hours.

With those kind of figures, we’d be surprised if Kacey turned down a duet with the frontman – especially given her emo past.

Brendan recently revealed that she used to have her earlobes stretched as a teen, jokingly tweeting, ‘Some of y’all never were into gauging your ears in your early high school years until your nana found your plugs and threw them away and it’s really showing [sic].’

That might go some way to explaining why she’s keen to work with new emo-pop sensation Billie Eilish. When a fan tweeted asking the pair to collab, Kacey replied, ‘here for that’.

There’s no need to fight over each other, how about a song featuring Brendan, Billie and Kacey in an emo/pop/country mashup?

We’re in if they are.
