It came after Ronan paid a touching tribute to mark the birthday of his late former bandmate Stephen Gately.

The singer sadly passed away in 2009 and yesterday he would have turned 44 years old.

His former bandmates decided to pay tribute to their friend as they took to their Instagram yesterday to share a number of throwback photos of the singer.

Keith Duffy shared a number of throwback pictures of himself and Stephen on Instagram yesterday.

He captioned the sweet post saying: “Happy Birthday Steo. Forever in my heart buddy.”

Ronan Keating also shared a snap of himself and Stephen back when they were in the band together. He said: “Happy Birthday Brother. 44. Miss ya Steo.”
