Borussia Dortmund vs Man City LIVE: Champions League latest score, goals and updates from fixture tonight

Follow all the action as Manchester City defend a slender first-leg lead against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Pep Guardiola’s side started the tie in perfect fashion, capitalising on an error from Emre Can, as Kevin De Bruyne struck early on at the Etihad. However, Dortmund responded valiantly and drew level with just six minutes remaining as Marco Reus stole in and curled a fine finish into the far corner. But with the tie in danger of tilting in Dortmund’s favour, Phil Foden scored a last-gasp winner to ensure City take a lead into tonight’s second leg.

With a semi-final against PSG awaiting tonight’s winner, City will once again have to stifle the prolific threat of Erling Haaland, who endured a relatively quiet game in Manchester, at least by the Norwegian’s own lofty standards. Guardiola has often been accused of overthinking his tactics in key European games as he’s sought to finally bring a long-coveted Champions League title to the Etihad, however, his side remain firm favourites and will be boosted by the absence of Jadon Sancho, who has failed to recover from injury in time to face his old club. Gundogan suddenly fuming at Bellingham after a coming together. He shoves him twice and then English midfielder is baffled at the German’s rage.

An odd one but Gundogan gets a talking to and we’re back underway.

A little lull in the game as both sides take a good look at one another.

The dynamics have totally shifted and now it’s Dortmund who are asked to bring the attack to Manchester City. Easier said than done.

Hitz is nearly caught trying to play it out from the back but just manages to squeeze the ball through a tiny gap. City are like a pack of wolves at the moment.

A sniff of goal for Dortmund as Hummels finds Haaland for one of the first times in the match. He lays it off for Reus who then moves it on to Dahoud. He checks back, dummies and looks to get his shot away but Rodri puts his body on the line to block.

Dortmund need more of that now. They have to commit more men forward.

How do Dortmund play this now? They need another goal just to send this to extra time.

De Bruyne runs through but his wayward shot is deflected away for a corner. He looks to be fouled before he pulls the trigger but the referee waved protests away.

The corner comes in and Foden’s flick on nicks off a mix of Hitz’s glove and the crossbar. Didn’t feel like it was ever going in but wasn’t far away.
