The coronation of Boris Johnson is a huge turning point in British politics.
All of us need to wake up to that fact.
Politics as we have known it in our country has changed and changed dramatically for the worst.
Boris Johnson is introducing something largely alien to our political culture and history.
Britain has always been proud of the way our country has led the way in setting the standards of democracy that many other nations have adopted.
We have always expected our politicians to adhere to these basic democratic standards.
Standards like respect for Parliament, basic decency and respect for the truth and others.

I warn you.
Do not expect Boris Johnson to ever abide by these basic British democratic standards.
He doesn’t even believe he has to.
Like his other rich friends in the Bullingdon Club, Johnson believes he was born to rule over us.
He has contempt for us all. To him the British people are just suckers to be played.

The fact that he can lie through his teeth, invent facts and figures, racially abuse and cause real harm to people but get away with it is all part of the big joke amongst his friends at the club.
He apes the behaviour of his big buddy and mentor, Donald Trump.
Johnson is just “Posh Trump.”
Labour will move heaven and earth to prevent Johnson damaging our country.
If we don’t act soon and decisively to tackle climate change our children will have no planet to inherit.
That’s why we will prevent Johnson’s promotion of the interests of his mates in the polluting fossil fuel industry.

The sort of people who have funded his leadership campaign.
With over four and a half million children living in poverty in our country we will block Johnson’s tax giveaways to his rich friends and demand action to halt the tax evasion and avoidance scams used by them and the wealthy corporations.
We will ensure that Johnson’s rich allies pay their taxes so we can end the suffering caused by the Tories’ Universal Credit.
Labour will show people what a wonderful country we could be again.
A country where people don’t have to rely on foodbanks and where we no longer have homeless sleeping on our streets.
We will show that we can create a country where everyone has a decent place to live and enjoys a high standard of living.
As he tries to lie and blusters his way through we will demonstrate that our country deserves better than the likes of Johnson.
