BORIS Johnson will be targeted this week with a wave of dirty tricks by Remainer MPs desperate to stop Brexit.
They have declared him “a marked man” as they plot a relentless campaign to weaken or destroy him.
A secret meeting of “rabble alliance” MPs concluded the PM is a hero to the millions who voted to leave the EU.
One Europhile MP admitted: “If we can get Boris, we can stop Brexit. He has become its human embodiment and has to be stopped.
“We’re going to throw everything at bringing him down.”
Brexit-wreckers are becoming increasingly frantic with just 32 days until departure.
Ringleaders will litter Boris’ path with political “landmines”.
He faces an ambush as he speaks at the Tory conference in Manchester this week.
Stay cool for MP Jo
PALS of murdered MP Jo Cox want all party leaders to sign up to a code of conduct aimed at protecting their members from intimidation.
The guidelines, being drafted by the Jo Cox Foundation, will set out standards of behaviour expected by politicians.
It comes after a stormy week of “inflammatory” language in the Commons.
Boris has become its human embodiment of Brexit and has to be stopped.
Scottish Nationalists and Labour could table a confidence vote with the aim of installing a stand-in PM.
Jeremy Corbyn still insists he should get first bite at leading a government of national unity if Mr Johnson is toppled.
‘CHARACTER ASSASSINATION’
The Labour chief will meet opposition leaders tomorrow to discuss other options.
It leaves the door open to Tory veteran Ken Clarke, Labour’s Margaret Beckett or Harriet Harman walking into Number 10 as rebel leader.
A source said: “There will be everything from character assassination, diversionary tactics, procedural ploys and further legal action. This is not over yet.”
To oust BoJo Remainers will need to agree on a candidate who can win the support of 21 ex-Tory rebels.
Carrie on BoJo
THE PM’S girlfriend Carrie Symonds arrived arm-in-arm with Boris Johnson ahead of today’s Tory party conference.
Carrie, 31, will be a key figure at the Manchester summit.
Last week she was at UN climate change talks in New York as an adviser to pressure group Oceana.
But the anti-Brexit alliance of Lib Dems, Labour and sacked Tories is badly divided on when to strike.
Some want to wait until Mr Johnson has to go cap-in-hand to Brussels for a delay.
But others believe he may have found a loophole in their law — leaving them only 12 days to stop a No Deal.
MP super Saturday
PM Boris Johnson must consider holding a “Super Saturday” vote on any Brexit deal.
He could ensure the Commons debates any agreement he strikes with Brussels, predicted Labour MP Caroline Flint.
The PM must by law seek a Brexit extension on Saturday, October 19 to halt a No Deal result.
MPs could vote hours after a deal is signed at an EU Council summit that ends on October 18.
