Beyonce’s eight-year-old daughter Blue Ivy is wasting no time in following in her footsteps and has won her first major music award.

Yep, we’re not kidding.

Blue scooped up a trophy at the NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People) Image Awards on Saturday night.

She won the award for outstanding duo/group alongside mum Beyonce, rapper Saint Jhn and Wizkid for their track Brown Skin Girl, which features on the Lion King: The Gift album.

Blue features as a vocalist and co-writer on the track, which was released as part of the soundtrack to the Lion King live-action remake that hit cinemas last year.

Beyonce had voiced Nala in the movie, alongside Donald Glover who voiced Simba.

It’s another accolade for Blue to add to her trophy cabinet, as she picked up the Ashford and Simpson Songwriter’s Award at the Soul Train Awards, thanks to her work on Brown Skin Girl, in 2019.

Beyonce, meanwhile, was one of the night’s biggest winners at the NAACP Image Awards, as she took home a whopping six awards, including outstanding female artist and outstanding album.

Lizzo won outstanding video for her hit Juice, Bruno Mars landed outstanding male artist, while Lil Nas X picked up outstanding new artist.

Blue’s win comes after she recently hit 1million listeners on Spotify – and she’s not even a solo artist or singer.

So how did she do it? She smashed records all thanks to very brief appearances in her famous parents’ music.

You see, Blue has been featuring in Beyonce songs and Jay Z tracks from as early on as two days after she was born in January 2012.

You can hear her crying as a baby in Jay Z’s hit Glory, and he let her rap the line: ‘Never seen a ceiling in my whole life, Everything I seen, everything is rotten,’ in Blue’s Freestyle/We Family.

Major music awards, 1million listeners, featured artist, guest rapper… she’s eight people. EIGHT. And probably sassier and more brilliant than we will ever be.

‘Scuse us while we let that one sink in.
