Beyonce defiantly poses for new snaps after mum slammed 'skin-lightening' backlash

Beyonce took to Instagram after facing mounting criticism online as people accused the singer of lightening her skin when she arrived at her film premiere with new platinum blonde locks.

In a captionless post, the 42-year-old proudly flaunted an all-white ensemble to match her new hair and showed a glimpse of her toned stomach pairing a hooded crop top with a pair of casual white joggers and matching heels.

She covered up with a long fluffy coat and finished off the look with some chunky black sunglasses.

In one snap, the mom-of-three posed in an elevator alongside her husband Jay-Z who donned all-black attire for an eye-catching contrast as he casually hung an arm around his wife’s shoulder.

Another photo showed the global superstar in an intense closeup without the sunglasses as it highlighted her gentle touches of pink eyeshadow and lipstick against her flawless skin, with her platinum blonde fring sticking out from her hood.

The collection of photos marks Beyonce’s first post since she came under fire for her appearance at her own film premiere last Saturday.

The Halo hitmaker took to the red carpet at the star-studded Los Angeles premiere for her Renaissance tour film to debut her platinum hair for the first time alongside a daring silver gown.

While the Grammy winner stunned onlookers, she also came under fire online as critics claimed she had artificially lightened her skin.

However, the singer’s mum, Tina Knowles, was quick to come to her daughter’s defense, brutally slamming the critics on Instagram as she labeled them “racist” and “self-hating”.

The 69-year-old aired her frustrations as she wrote alongside a video of the backlash layering over a snap of Beyonce at the premiere: “I am sick and tired of people attacking her.

“Came across this today and decided to post it after seeing all of the stupid ignorant self-hating racist statements about her, lightening her skin, and wearing platinum hair wanting to be white.”

She pointed out that silver was “the whole theme” of not just the evening but the entire tour and branded the critics “bozos”.

Tina concluded: “Every time she does something that she works her a** off for and is a statement of her work ethic, talent and resilience. Here you sad little haters come out the woodwork.

“Jealousy and racism, sexism, double standards, you perpetuate those things.”
