Results from one human study indicate that apple cider vinegar has impressive effects on weight and body fat.

In a study with the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health, vinegar intake was analysed.

The study found that the main component of the vinegar, acetic acid, was found to suppress body fat accumulation.

Subjects in the study were randomly assigned to three groups of similar body weight, mass index and waist circumference.

A 12-week treatment investigated one group ingesting 15ml daily, another group ingesting 30ml and the other taking a placebo.

The study concluded that the body weight, BMI, visceral fat area, waist circumference and serum triglyceride levels were significantly lower in both vinegar intake groups than in the placebo group.
