Ben Affleck is ‘in a great place’ as he celebrates one year of sobriety.

The Gone Girl actor headed to rehab for the third time last August, seeking help for alcohol addiction issues.

And an insider has revealed the 47-year-old is committed to focusing on his health and his family.

‘Ben is in a great place in his recovery and life. He continues to want to be the best father and friend he can be,’ they said.

‘Ben has found balance between his work and home life. He remains committed to a number of treatment and wellness methods that focus on his health.’

The actor split with ex-wife Jennifer Garner back in 2015, but have remained close ever since, co-parenting children Violet, Seraphina and Samuel together.

And the source explained the former couple have had a ‘great summer’ with their little ones.

‘They have shared a great summer with the kids, doing outings, travel, etc,’ the source continued to Us Weekly, praising the 13 Going On 30 star for being ‘really supportive’

‘They have a very trusting and special relationship.’

Ben completed his 40-day stay at a treatment facility last October, sharing a statement about his sobriety on Instagram shortly after.

‘This week I completed a forty day stay at a treatment centre for alcohol addiction and remain in outpatient care,’ he wrote at the time. ‘The support I have received from my family, colleagues and fans means more to me than I can say.

‘It’s given me the strength and support to speak about my illness with others.

‘Battling any addiction is a lifelong and difficult struggle. Because of that, one is never really in or out of treatment. It is a full-time commitment. I am fighting for myself and my family. So many people have reached out on social media and spoken about their own journeys with addiction. To those people, I want to say thank you.’

He added: ‘With acceptance and humility, I continue to avail myself with the help of so many people and I am grateful to all those who are there for me. I hope down the road I can offer an example to others who are struggling.’

The actor previously entered rehab in 2001 and, years later, announced he had completed treatment for alcohol addiction in March 2017.
