Fresh from a friendly victory over the Republic of Ireland, it’s down to more serious business for England and a trip to face Belgium, the world’s top-ranked side.

We asked you who you would pick in the team if you were manager Gareth Southgate.

Midfielder Jack Grealish was the second most popular selection (at 17:00 GMT on Saturday), in 88% of teams, despite having yet to start a competitive international. Only striker and captain Harry Kane featured in more teams.

The most closely run contest was Mason Mount narrowly beating lifelong friend Declan Rice to start in midfield.

Nick Pope and Dean Henderson both got more selections in goal than Jordan Pickford.

You can still pick your team – though it won’t count towards the result. Choose your formation and your XI below and then share with your friends…

Choose your first-choice England XI for the upcoming Nations League match against Belgium.
