Dan Walker has shared a rare insight into his family life as he celebrated the birthday of his teenage daughter, Susie.
The 44-year-old BBC Breakfast host is the proud father of three children, a son named Joe and two daughters, Susanna and Jessica, who he shares with wife of 20 years, Sarah.
Dan is mostly very private about his family life, but gave fans a glimpse of his home and his daughter as she turned 14-years-old over the weekend.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Dan shared a collection of photos which showed a ‘Happy Birthday’ sign hanging up in his living room, a glimpse of his family garden, and a photo of Susie while her face was covered by an emoji.
Sharing the snaps online, Dan wrote:”Happy Birthday to our amazing, gorgeous, kind and wonderful 14-year-old Susie.”
He also explained the gifts and treats he had sourced for his teenage daughter.
He wrote: “She wanted waffles for breakfast, a chocolate brownie cake with sprinkles for later & some brown converse high-tops (which are surprisingly hard to find).”
Dan added: “I hope you have a lovely Sunday.”
The photo collection included snaps of the aforementioned waffles and a delicious looking chocolate cake.
While also giving a rare glimpse of the TV presenter’s family home.
Dan and his wife Sarah tied-the-knot in 2001 – with this year marking 20 years of their union.
The couple met at the University of Sheffield where Dan graduated with a Masters degree in broadcast journalism in 1999.
And the pair live now in Sheffield, in South Yorkshire, with their children – with Dan’s trip to the BBC offices in Salford a mere hour and a half drive away.
The family relocated to Sheffield in 2017.
Discussing his choice to move back to the Yorkshire city with the Daily Mail in 2018, Dan said: “My wife Sarah and I moved to Sheffield last year because it’s played a big part in our lives – we both studied here and it’s where I began broadcasting.”
Dan has been a BBC Breakfast presenter since 2014 and quit his role on Football Focus last month after 12 years.
