Bad Boys For Life is the third instalment of the Bad Boys franchise starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.
The actors are making their widely anticipated return as a duo on the big screen, but when exactly is the movie hitting cinemas, who has been cast and when is the trailer dropping? Find out below.
When is Bad Boys For Life out?
The film currently has a release date set for January 17, 2020.
It was initially expected to be released in 2018, but following several changed made by Sony and several changes concerning the movie’s script, a new date was set for 2020.
It also didn’t help that in the midst of beginning pre-production, the film’s original director Joe Carnahan had chosen to quit working on the motion picture after having clashed with Will Smith regarding their creative differences.
“Here’s the thing. I love Will, he’s a great guy. It’s just, you get to a point where … Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise, Will Smith, you find me a motherf****r in the modern era that’s walked away from movies with those guys and is still working in some capacity.”
‘I wasn’t servicing the story that I was really excited about telling, that the studio had greenlit. And again, this isn’t to throw shade at Will — it’s your face on the poster, it’s your name on the poster, you need to do things the way you want them done.’
Who is in the cast for the forthcoming movie?
While several names are making a comeback to the popular franchise, there will be several new faces joining Will and Martin for the upcoming action flick.
High School Music star Vanessa Hudgens, Riverdale’s Charles Melton and Alexander Ludwig will all be appearing in Bad Boys For Life.
It’s unclear what positions these actors will play in the movie given that a full trailer has yet to be revealed.
The villain cast for the third instalment is Jacob Scipio, according to Digital Spy, adding that “Paola Nuñez will play Lowrey’s former girlfriend and head of Miami PD’s elite AMMO unit.”
Music producer and social media influencer DJ Khaled took to his official Instagram account where he revealed he’d also be starring in the motion picture.
His character remains unknown at this given time.
Will there be a trailer?
Most definitely.
Will and Martin only finished shooting scenes for the movie near the end of April, as confirmed via Metro.
This would evidently mean that it will take another couple of months before Sony will move ahead with plans to start promoting the movie with multiple trailers that will be distributed as January 2020 nears.
A teaser could be on its way by June, from what’s been predicted so far.
