Avengers’ Chris Evans isn’t a fan of Donald Trump’s reaction to coronavirus

Chris shared his thoughts on Trump’s coronavirus speech

Avengers’ Chris Evans has shared his distaste for Donald Trump’s reaction to the coronavirus pandemic.

As celebrities join in the fight to make sure people are staying healthy and practicing social distancing, the Captain America star has thrown his two cents into the mix.

Trump was previously slammed for his response in which he told Americans to ‘relax’ amid the deadly spread of Covid-19.

In fact, to the leader, he felt, quite simply, ‘We’re all going to be great – we’re going to be so good’.

After that, Trump left the stage and had Vice President Mike Pence take any questions.

Referencing the move, Chris shared a message on Twitter, insisting America wants answers amid the crisis.

He wrote: ‘The president just ran off stage after his rambling press conference without answering a single question. America wants answers.

‘America wants leadership. America doesn’t want a president who runs off stage during a crisis and lets Mike Pence do all the talking.’

Of course this prompted his followers to suggest Chris Evans should be named the next President. Which is a move we wouldn’t be all that mad about – surely white knit jumpers a la Knives Out would be provided for all.

Not one to shy away from sharing his political opinion online, the star previously revealed he was warned off criticising the president, in case it turned off his fans from going to his movies.

The day Trump was elected he called it ‘an embarrassing night for America’, while he also got into it with ex-KKK leader David Duke after Trump picked Jeff Sessions for attorney general.

According to a previous Esquire interview which revealed that ‘yes, advisors have said as much to him’ about not bad-mouthing the nation’s leader, he also said he doesn’t mind if people disagree with him.

Chris said in 2017: ‘Look, I’m in a business where you’ve got to sell tickets. But, my God, I would not be able to look at myself in the mirror if I felt strongly about something and didn’t speak up.

‘I think it’s about how you speak up. We’re allowed to disagree. If I state my case and people don’t want to go see my movies as a result, I’m okay with that.’
