‘I played hard and proudly!’ Pia Miranda reacts to being branded ‘the most hated woman in Australia’ for voting out fan favourite Luke Toki on Australian Survivor
Pia Miranda was viciously trolled on social media after voting out fan favourite Luke Toki on Australian Survivor.
And the actress, who has been branded ‘the most hated woman in Australia’ by viewers of the show, told the Herald Sun this week how she deals with the backlash.
The 46-year-old said she ‘played hard and played proud’ and at the end of the day, made her children proud.

‘I’ve done a couple of podcasts where I’ve talked about what it means to be a woman playing really hard on Survivor and how sometimes that can end with repercussions,’ Pia stated.
‘But at the end of the day I played hard and played proudly and I can make my kids proud.’
The Looking for Alibrandi star did however say that the negative comments from fans of the show was a ‘real eye opener’.

Following the elimination of fan favourite Luke Toki, 33, on Australian Survivor earlier this month, Pia’s Instagram page has been flooded with brutal comments.
One viewer branded her ‘the most hated woman in Australia,’ while another wrote: ‘I was so disappointed with your choice (to vote out Luke).’
‘You’ll live with this decision forever,’ was another comment. ‘Worst TV moment ever.’

One also wrote: ‘He saved you, then you spat in his face… hope you sleep at night.’
While viewers were scathing, one person who wasn’t upset with Pia was Luke himself.
The father-of-three took to Instagram this month, urging viewers to take it easy on Pia.
Scathing: ‘You’ll live with this decision forever,’ wrote one furious viewer on Instagram. ‘Worst TV moment ever’
‘It’s just a game,’ he said in a video. ‘Pia’s probably copping a lot of flack online, and just remember that she made that move for herself and her goals.’
He continued: ‘That’s exactly what I would’ve done… Just be a little nicer to her and remember that all those other guys have played this game just as hard as I have.’
During the Australian Survivor semi-final, Pia was torn between voting out underdog Baden Gilbert or front-runner Luke.
Another wrote: ‘He saved you, then you spat in his face… hope you sleep at night’
Despite forging an alliance with Luke throughout the game, the actress ultimately decided to send him packing because he was a bigger threat than Baden.
Pia struggled with her decision, breaking down in tears as she wrote Luke’s name onto a piece of paper.
‘I didn’t think writing down a name would be so hard,’ she said.
