Australia international all-rounder Aaron Hardie has re-signed for Surrey from May until the end of July.

The 25-year-old will be available for three County Championship matches and the T20 Blast group stage.

Hardie had a short stay with the Three Feathers in the 2022 season, playing three T20 games and one red-ball match for the County Championship winners.

He has since won 10 white-ball caps for his country, taking six wickets and scoring 84 runs.

Hardie, born in Bournemouth, has averaged just under 45 runs in first-class cricket, with a top score of 174 not out, as well as taking 62 wickets with the ball.

“I’m stoked to come back to Surrey this summer,” said Hardie, the leading scorer in the 2022-23 Big Bash League with Perth Scorchers.

“I loved my time at the club in 2022 and got a real sense of what it means to wear the Three Feathers.

“I’m ready to chip in and support the team with bat or ball and do my bit in trying to bring more success to south London.”

Hardie will join up with the reigning champions ahead of their County Championship fixture against Hampshire, beginning on 24 May.

Earlier in February, the club announced West Indies bowler Kemar Roach will also be returning to The Oval this season.
